One of 16 beaches in Dennis, Mayflower Beach is a small part of the northern Dennis shoreline on Cape Cod Bay, stretching from Nobscusset Point at the Eastern end to the Chapin Beach shoulder at the Western end. This beautiful border encompasses three beaches in one: Chapin, Mayflower and Bayview beach.
A sunset and photographer lover’s dream – Mayflower Beach has sweeping views of Cape Cod Bay and features hundreds of feet of tidal flats at low tide that are perfect for walking. A boardwalk stretches from the large parking lot over the dunes to the beach below. Pristine sand and calm water with very little seaweed. Expect extensive patrols by police and security in regard to preventing alcohol on the beach. This family-friendly beach has restrooms, plenty of room for frisbee, lifeguards on duty and picnic area.
Parking and Fees: There are three main parking lots available for visitors to Mayflower beach, each corresponding with the three beaches that make up the shoreline. Dunes Road, Chapin Beach Road and Bayview Road all have parking for each of the three areas of the shoreline.
Daily parking costs are $20 for weekdays and $25 for weekends, or a $75 weekly parking fee. Residents of Dennis can buy a $40 sticker good for a season. There’s also a $300 non-resident seasonal option. You can find the most up-to-date information on parking at the town’s website.
Getting there: From Route 6A take New Boston Road to Beach Street, then take a right on Bayview Road.
