Located at the end of Ocean Street in Hyannis, Kalmus beach is a local and vacationer favorite for its large L-shaped size that offers views of Hyannis Harbor on one side and Lewis Bay on the other.
You’ll also love the convenience of restrooms, outdoor shower, picnic and grilling area and the Kalmus Beach snack bar. Watch the ferries come and go between Hyannis and Nantucket or the Vineyard, kite surfing and yachts coming and going. You’ll find a jetting jutting out, which is perfect for searching for crabs and starfish. Both sides of the beach are long and perfect for walking.
The beach has a picnic area where you can eat, so bring food and drinks along to enjoy after surfing the waves or lying in the sun.
Clean, calm water and shell-filled sand. Bring water shoes if you or your kids are sensitive to rocky/Shelly beach sand. Large parking lot. No lifeguard after Labor Day. Mobi chairs are available that go on sand AND IN THE WATER for persons with disabilities!
Beach Parking fees: Parking is available 9 a.m. to 9 p.m and a parking permit is required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Fee for non-resident parking sticker is $15 a day, $50 a week, and $200 for the season. Daily permit may be purchased at the beach; weekly and seasonal permits must be purchased at the National Guard Armory, 225 South Street, Hyannis.
Parking is free after 4pm.
