Tucked away in the corner of a residential district in South Yarmouth is the historic Judah Baker Windmill – a scenic spot to visit any time of the year. It offers beautiful views of Bass River, which is adjacent to the waters of Nantucket Sound. It was named after its original builder, Judah Baker, who constructed the mill in 1791. Like many Cape Cod windmills, the windmill experienced several moves before moving to its current location. The property is surrounded by a nicely kept grass area with benches and a water front view that has stairs leading to a small beach area. A hidden gem on Cape Cod, and a must visit – perfect if you only have a short amount of time to spend as this area contains no walking trails. Free limited parking available, and the mill is right there when you get out of your car.
