Where

Located at Tom Nevers Field sits an underground bunker that was built in 1961 for President John F. Kennedy and his family during the Cold War. It was built to be used as a nuclear survival bunker that could be reached fast from the Kennedy family vacation home in Hyannis Port and was built to accommodate 30 people to survive up to 30 days in the event of a nuclear attack. However the bunker was never used as a presidential fallout shelter.

Getting here; Once you’re on Tom Nevers Rd, drive two miles until the road ends. The round bunker hatch entrance is in the mound next to the softball field. You can’t miss the locked hatch built into the mound. Some people have been lucky to arrive with the door unlocked and have ventured inside!
